NG Brakes renews its sponsorship agreement with the team Ajo Motorsport KTM for the 2019 season of the MotoGP World Championship in the Moto2 category. The agreement covers all team programs and also includes the Ajo Academy, a future champions development project created by Aki Ajoâs structure.
âNG Brake and Ajo Motorsport intend for their sponsorship relationship, initiated five seasons ago, to continue being as fruitful for both parties as it has been so far. The decision to renew was not taken lightlyâit is based on a shared history of success that we want to extend for many yearsâ , explains Vicens Torras, owner and director of NG Brakes.
Aki Ajo, Team Principal and CEO of Red Bull KTM Ajo Motorsport, visited our headquarters in Cerdanyola del Vallés specifically to learn first-hand about the latest innovations we are developing, and to formally seal the continuation of this highly valued partnership.
This rewarding collaboration began in the 2015 season, when the team achieved the World Championship title with French rider Johann Zarco. The following year, 2016, the success was repeatedâagain with Zarco.
In 2017, Miguel Oliveira finished 3rd in the championship, while his teammate Brad Binder placed 8th in his rookie season in the category.
And finally, in the 2018 championship, Team Ajo Motorsport KTM was crowned Moto2 Team World Champion, thanks to Oliveiraâs 2nd and Binderâs 3rd overall standings.
For 2019, there will be changes within the Finnish squad. The most notable is the arrival of Jorge MartĂn, current Moto3 World Champion, who will join Brad Binder as his teammate. Now all that remains is to wait for the next official tests, scheduled for February 20th at the Circuit of Jerez. The season will begin on March 10th at the Losail International Circuit of Qatar.
