PingĂĽinos 2020: The Winter Motorcycle Gathering

Events

The month of January, right in the heart of the winter season in the northern hemisphere, hosts one of the largest and most iconic biker gatherings in Europe. Valladolid welcomes Pingüinos 2020. Thirty-seven editions already, where true riders face the harsh winter weather to come together and enjoy this massive celebration of two wheels — or three, since a few sidecars also join the adventure.

Throughout its long history, everything has happened here: from a Guinness record for motorcycles in line back in 1981, to charity campaigns and awards presented to recognized personalities, brands, or legendary “penguin” entities. The prized Golden Penguin Awards have honored, among others, Jorge Martín, official rider of Ajo Motorsport, a team sponsored by NG Brakes in the Moto2 World Championship.

To attend this event, there are several registration options available. Here is the official link: PingĂĽinos 2020 Registration.

Keep in mind that attendance is usually around 30,000 people, which says a lot about the excellent organization. Year after year, whether the weather is kind or not, the event delivers maximum comfort and recognition to all visitors.

Throughout the weekend, participants can enjoy a wide variety of scheduled activities: excursions, exhibitions, local gastronomy tastings, live music concerts, the burning of the traditional “Pingüinos bonfire,” prize raffles, and the most anticipated moment of all — the torchlight parade.

On Saturday the 11th at 8:00 PM, the massive procession begins. It is an unforgettable parade for both riders and spectators, following a perfectly marked route through the streets of Valladolid, ending at the famous Acera de Recoletos.

But it doesn’t stop there. On Sunday, after the traditional “penguin breakfast,” the “PINGÜINOS GOLD AND HONOR 2020” awards will be presented, along with trophies for “PINGÜINOS GATHERING 2020” and a major gift raffle — including a motorcycle: the PIAGGIO Medley Special Edition 125.

This marks the end of the current edition and the beginning of preparations for the next one.

Don’t miss it — Pingüinos is an experience every motorcyclist should live at least once in a lifetime.
