Augusto Fernández: “I think the key to this year's consistency has been experience”

Augusto Fernández began the season as a candidate for the Moto2 title. However, he did so without making much noise, laying the foundations for what is proving to be a fantastic year for the Madrid-born rider based in Mallorca. Throughout this journey, he has had the unbeatable company of NG BRAKES brake discs, which allow him to achieve maximum performance.

Now comes the finale, the match point. A home race, specifically at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Cheste (Valencia), where the Red Bull KTM Ajo rider can reach for glory and claim the Moto2 World Champion title. This is a feat he could achieve after a consistent year that began in the pre-season tests, which were essential for the rider's confidence and for achieving that consistency we mentioned. There, hand in hand with NG BRAKES, the seeds were sown for a season in which he has known how to approach each race intelligently, giving us heart-stopping braking maneuvers and overtakes.

“I think the key to this year's consistency has been experience, both mine and the team's. Knowing that by maintaining that consistency within the Top 5 in every race, it would lead us to fight for the world championship,” says Augusto Fernández, who arrives at the Gran Premio Motul de la Comunitat Valenciana as the leader, with a 9.5-point advantage over Ai Ogura. The strong point or the goal for this last race is, in his own words, “to continue with the same mentality as every weekend, trying to get the best result and, of course, trying to win the race.”

Reaching the final round with this advantage has not been easy for Augusto Fernández. However, he is clear about the pillars that allowed him to achieve it: “the support of the team, the speed we’ve had, and the consistency we’ve maintained throughout the entire season.”
