Everything Ready for the Motocross World Championship

At last, we can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. If everything goes as expected, next weekend (June 12th and 13th) will mark the opening round of the Motocross World Championship.

The MXGP of Russia in Orlyonok will undoubtedly be the most anticipated event for riders and teams alike— the sign that a certain sense of “new normality” is finally returning to the Motocross World Championship circuit.

Infront Moto Racing, the company responsible for the exclusive television, marketing and global promotion rights of the Motocross World Championship, together with the FIM (International Motorcycling Federation), have presented an ambitious calendar of 19 races across three continents: Europe, Asia and South America.

If there are no unexpected setbacks or cancellations due to the current global situation, these three continents will host this year’s world championship.

2021 Motocross World Championship Calendar

In addition, the prestigious Motocross of Nations will take place on September 26th at the Italian circuit of Mantova.

Looking at the calendar, it becomes clear that an extremely intense summer lies ahead, with more than 50% of the races concentrated in just a few months.

The championship will follow the same format as last season: MXGP and MX2 will race on Sundays, while EMX and WMX will take place on Saturdays.

After a pre-season that has felt far too long, some of the main protagonists of this Motocross World Championship include: Jeffrey Herlings, Tony Cairoli and Jorge Prado from Red Bull KTM Factory Racing; Tim Gajser and Mitch Evans from Team HRC; and Glenn Coldenhoff, Jeremy Seewer and Ben Watson from the Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP Team, among the 22 teams entered in MXGP.

In the MX2 category, there will also be 22 teams, including the standout Red Bull KTM Factory Racing squad with Tom Vialle
