Lo primero que tenemos que pensar al ir de pasajero es en el tipo de trayecto que vamos a realizar. No es lo mismo un desplazamiento por la ciudad que una ruta de media o larga distancia. Y como todo en la vida, criterio y sentido común.

Empezamos por la vestimenta. Como hemos explicado en este otro post debe ser la adecuada por estacionalidad y con elementos de protección, igual que el tipo de calzado. Quizás estas premisas sean más difíciles de conseguir en desplazamientos cortos y/o urbanos pero os aseguramos que es lo aconsejable. Yendo en moto nunca sabes dónde está oculto el peligro para darte un susto.

Si la persona que irá de pasajero en la moto no tiene experiencia como tal debe entender que hay ciertas limitaciones de movimientos y que, incluso algunos de ellos pueden ser hasta peligrosos para el conductor.

Antes de montar en la motocicleta debemos esperar a que el piloto nos dé el ok al movimiento de subida. Debe estar firme a la espera de la acción que es aconsejable realizar desde la izquierda ya que si el conductor ha bajado la pata de apoyo evitará el desequilibrio y caída del conjunto.

Otro detalle a tener en cuenta es un pequeño código de señales de entendimiento si no se tiene intercomunicadores (incluso teniéndolos, por si fallara la señal) gestos como un pequeño golpe en el costado para que se detenga u otro similar para marcar una indisposición repentina son importantes, sobre todo si hacemos desplazamientos más o menos largos.

La postura debe ser lo más cómoda posible dentro de las limitaciones de forma y espacio. Pero ¡atención! cómoda no significa despreocupada. Se debe adoptar una cierta mimetización con el piloto, firmeza en las piernas para apretar el sillín y la vista adelante como si fueras conduciendo.

Absolutamente prohibido cogerse a la espalda, el cuello o los brazos  del conductor. Como máximo y en alguna situación excepcional podemos asirnos a su cintura, siempre y cuando sea de común acuerdo. Para eso las motos llevan unas asas laterales en el colín que son las agarraderas del copiloto.

Debemos imitar el movimiento de inclinación en el mismo sentido que el que conduce. No debemos realizar movimientos bruscos y permanecer lo más quietos posible y atentos a lo que va pasando en cada momento.

Si se produce una situación de riesgo debemos acoplarnos al gesto del piloto, si realizamos una maniobra por nuestra cuenta sólo contribuiremos a perjudicar el equilibrio y la situación salvable se puede convertir en insalvable.

En las motos hay un elemento que como pasajeros  es nuestro enemigo, el tubo de escape. Ojo que su temperatura elevada nos puede ocasionar quemaduras, especial cuidado de no tocarlo o rozarlo, aunque vaya protegido, nunca debemos fiarnos de él.

Y un último consejo, cuando se realiza un trayecto urbano es frecuente el frenar y volver a acelerar, procurad mantener la firmeza del cuello para que vuestro casco no vaya golpeando continuamente con el del conductor, algo que resulta muy molesto y compromete la atención.

Y cuando te digan que subas de pasajero, pues eso, actúa como un pasajero bien asegurado, no contribuyas al caos de tu alrededor.
