Lesser-Known Routes for Summer

Summer is approaching, the temperature is rising, and plans are starting to pop up everywhere. That means one thing: the time has come to plan our vacations. The sooner we do it, the better our chances of finding accommodation at a good price. If you are thinking about taking your bike out of the garage and making it your best ally during the summer months, take note, because you are going to love these 5 routes. Plus, they aren't the most typical ones and will allow you to discover spectacular places.

Ribeira Sacra – Galicia (Spain)

One of the gems of our country. Galicia is full of them, but the Ribeira Sacra leaves everyone who beholds it breathless. From NG BRAKES, we propose a route starting from Monforte de Lemos, with its first stop being Parada Do Sil. From there, you can contemplate the canyons and the typical vineyards of the area and, if you feel like it, head down for a catamaran ride on the Sil River. After this, the route continues to Os Peares, where you can see the point where the Miño and Sil rivers meet. Finally, you have two options: return to Monforte de Lemos or go to Orense, where you can enjoy its thermal waters the following day.

French Riviera (France)

This second motorcycle route doesn't take us very far. And while the French Côte d'Azur is a typical summer destination, it still has roads that are a true delight for two-wheel lovers and aren't usually very crowded. The well-known Corniche Roads, from Menton to Nice, will allow you to enjoy many curves and spectacular views, especially if you opt for the "Grande Corniche" (the highest road). Our recommendation is to stop in as many villages as you can, especially in Eze, one of the most beautiful in Europe.

Santorini (Greece)

If you are undecided between a road trip and a few days at the beach… we have the solution! Fly to Santorini, where you can enjoy its beautiful landscapes bathed in the white of the island's typical buildings and its crystal-clear waters. Once there, rent a scooter and explore the island with it. It might not be the route you expected, but the thrill of taking curves with the wind in your face and, above all, the possibility of enjoying the surroundings and discovering less-traveled spots is still there.

Vlorë-Sarandë (Albania)

Albania is one of those destinations that has gradually gained prominence every summer. A few years ago, it was largely unknown, but now everyone wants to visit. Its crystal-clear waters, beautiful beaches, and authentic villages are three reasons why it has become a summer trend. One of the routes most liked by bikers is the one connecting Vlorë with Sarandë, traveling along the coast and enjoying unbeatable views defined by the sea and cliffs.

The Betws-y-Coed Triangle (Wales)

North Wales is full of spectacular landscapes, with routes that delight hiking enthusiasts and two-wheel fans alike. One of the most popular is the Betws-y-Coed Triangle. It is a triangulation of three roads connecting Betws-y-Coed and Ruthin, whose popularity and beauty are such that it is even used for filming motorcycle and vehicle tests. Our recommendation is to ride all three roads, stop to get to know the local villages and, once you park the bike, enjoy the atmosphere of the pubs. And if you feel like swapping two wheels for hiking boots, don't miss Snowdonia National Park.
